The MSX Italia Association had a memorable day during the event in Brusaporto in 2024, marking another success in promoting and celebrating retrocomputing culture, and in particular, the MSX world. This event, now a regular event for enthusiasts and the curious, offered a wide range of activities and meeting moments, making the day one of the most attended and rich ever.
An Event for Everyone
The carefully organized meeting attracted people of all ages, from those nostalgic for MSX computers to young people approaching retrocomputing for the first time. Members of the MSX Italia Association set up an exhibition area with some of the most iconic and rare models of the platform. Among these, the famous Toshiba HX-10I stood out, appreciated for its robustness and diffusion in Italy, and the unmistakable Frael Bruc 100, an Italian model that marked an era in the MSX panorama. Visitors were able to admire these historic pieces and see the software and games of the time in operation, reliving the experience of 80s computing.
Activities and Demonstrations
The day was enriched by several activities designed to involve all those present. Among the most appreciated, the demonstrations of programming and use of MSX computers with previews of the newest games created by our associates Giuseppe Ettore Pintus with Freedom Fighter, the team composed of Gianluca Lazzari, Marco Casali and Marco Rossin with SETRIS II, in addition to the newest hardware by Ivan Michelucci that promises music in various formats and much more.
Promotion for the MSX DEVCON Event in Pisa
During the day, the MSX Italia Association also took the opportunity to promote the next event of great importance for the community: the DEVCON MSX in Pisa, scheduled for November 16, 2024. The event will focus on development and innovation in the MSX field, offering technical workshops, conferences and networking spaces for programmers, developers and enthusiasts. In Brusaporto, many visitors showed interest in this event, attracting the attention especially of those who wish to delve into the technical and experimental side of the MSX universe.
Meetings and Exchanges
The Brusaporto event was an ideal opportunity to create connections between collectors, programmers and retrocomputing enthusiasts. Through the exchange of stories, anecdotes and knowledge, participants enriched the Italian community dedicated to the MSX world, laying solid foundations for future collaborations and new projects.
