There Our participation in Firenze Vintage Bit 2025 was, once again, an intense and highly significant experience, both from a human and technical point of view.
Some of our most active members in the area were present at our stand:
Max Privrat, President of the Association, Leonardo Vettori, Lorenzo Mancini, Fabio Brianese, and Gianluca Gaggi, who represented the spirit and passion of the Italian MSX community. Among the event organizers, we're pleased to highlight the presence of our member Federico Gori, while Maurizio Morandi stopped by during the event, sharing moments of discussion and curiosity.
The event featured 28 exhibitors from various fields of retrocomputing and historic electronics, though this year's Firenze Vintage Bit seemed to see a smaller turnout. In this context, the MSX Italia Association was the only organization to showcase MSX machines, bringing to the public's attention a fundamental standard in the history of home computing, still surprisingly relevant and alive today.
The most moving moment of the day was undoubtedly Lorenzo Mancini's conference, of which we published the video. He recounted his experiences, dreams, and initial approaches to programming: an authentic and engaging story that symbolically marked—and explained—the birth of Lorenzo Mancini's journey as a professional programmer, arousing great interest and participation from the audience.
Thanks to everyone who came to visit us and to the organizers for the great success of the event.
During the day there was the opportunity to work in person on the project of the research and development group on the C language of the MSX Italia association “CHRONO RUNNER” of which we even saw a ROM running on the VG8020 finally a moment of study and sharing on the settings of recently developed cartridges such as the Italian Wondertang and the Pico.
An event that confirms, once again, how much the MSX knows how to speak to the past, present and future of computing.
