Hi everyone, I have a question about the OpenMsx emulator, I can't use .dsk files. I've done these two tests for now:
1) when I try to load it through catapult I get the error message: Fatal error: No disk drive A present to put image 'C:/Users/87003101/msxgl-workspace/the-castel/the-castel/emul/dsk/ DOS1_the-castel.dsk' in.
2) when I open the emulator directly the disk device is disabled.

Does anyone know how to fix the problem

Hi Nicola, Open Msx is an emulator that emulates the machines as they are released. For example, very few MSX1s had the standard drive. You have to look for one that had it. Otherwise you can add it as optional in the HW menu, in the Extensions item. It's a mess to explain in just a few words. But if you are there on Sunday 25th, I will be able to explain it better there

@orazio-cacciola They'll definitely be there on Sunday. Yes, however, I tried to insert it as an extension. I insert the disc but then BASIC starts and I stop there because I don't know how to continue 🙂

I found the solution to my question, everything is very simple. Below are the steps necessary to start a game on floppy disk.

1) I start OpenMsx (I have version 19.1)
2) from the menu I select the machine to emulate for example Canon V-20 (JP)
3) from the menu I insert the Panasonic FS-FD1A 3.5 inch Floppy extension into the Slot A folder
4) from the menu I select the game
5) I reset the machine and the game starts

if we select a machine with the floppy included, the steps to follow are as follows
1) I start OpenMsx (I have version 19.1)
2) from the menu I select the machine to emulate, for example Philips 8245
3) from the menu I select the game
4) I reset the machine and the game starts

If you know of another system, comment below

I add you can use Catpult

0) Catapult start

1) select the Canon V-20 (JP) from MSX Typer
2) in the extensions item I select Panasonic FS-FD1A 3.5 inch Floppy
2) from Disk A select the game
3) press Start and the game starts

if we select a machine with the floppy included, the steps to follow are as follows

1) select the Philips NMS8245 from MSX Typer
2) from Disk A select the game
3) press Start and the game starts
