Popeye for MSX2 has all the makings of being the best and most faithful conversion for 8-bit computers. For the development of this porting the C language was used, together with the MsxGL library. The programmer carefully selected the colors and partially redesigned the various game screens to adapt them to the resolution of the MSX2. The sprites have also been completely redesigned to fit the 16x16 size.
In writing the game some compromises had to be made but these do not in any way affect the beauty and playability. The AI is one of these, exactly replicating that of the arcade would have been difficult, but the programmer came very close. This can be seen in the bruto / bluto movements which are not faithful to the original.
In my opinion one of the biggest challenges was replicating the graphics but Wimpie3 completely succeeded.
The game is already in an advanced state of development, it shouldn't be too long until its actual completion.
While waiting for the final version, enjoy this programming masterpiece, here you can preview the video of a portion of the gameplay

Hello, it's a pain that with the little it took to finish it, according to the author, everything seems to indicate that you're going to ask without finishing it. These are things that can be understood.
It's a real disaster, let's say that for the moment its development is suspended. We will hope to finish it in the next few months. It's a shame because the game is really good.
