Buona sera, ho un computer Philips MSX 8020. Premetto che sono molto alle prime armi! Comunque, mii chiedevo se esistessero dei comandi per controllare la porta stampante posta sul retro del computer, per esempio per eccitare qualche relè. Essenzialmente vorrei, solo come test, usare il MSX come un PLC e, quindi, pilotare un motore tramite teleruttore o inverter e farli compiere un numero definito di giri , precedentemente impostato nel programma, tramite un contagiri magnetico o un trasduttore di posizione. Per simulare una coclea o un dosatore! Ringrazio in anticipo chi mi possa aiutare!

Good evening, I have a Philips MSX 8020 computer.

Let me start by saying that I am a very beginner! However, I was wondering if there were commands to control the printer port on the back of the computer, for example to energize some relay.

Essentially I would like, just as a test, to use the MSX as a PLC and, therefore, drive a motor via a contactor or inverter and make it perform a defined number of revolutions, previously set in the program, via a magnetic tachometer or a position transducer. To simulate an auger or a dispenser!

Hi, it can be done, but you have to build a relay board with 8 channels on the parallel pinout, but there are other ways, you can use the joystick port to acquire data for example, or install a RaspBerryPIzeroW with its gpios in the port expansion... if you want to learn more in the next few days I'll give you some links bye!A.

I would prefer to use the original hardware, anyway, I don't think I need more than the 8 Citronics outputs, even if I don't have the pinout of the aforementioned port...

Then I have to find a system to create a pulse counter on the MSX Basic..!
